Mellor Brook Community Website is nearly set to go live after a massive re-vamp and redesign, shifting the old static pages design and layout onto a more efficient and massively more flexible Content Management System using Joomla 1.5.
Significant changes have been made to the Event management system, which is now incorporated into the site allowing automated management of event expiry and allowing selected users to add and edit events through the front end of the web site.
The forum has been converted from using YABB 2.1 to a native Joomla 1.5 Forum system called Kunena (Swahili for 'to speak'). Kunena was previously known as Fireboard.
Community Builder components have been installed allowing users to communicate with one another whether through the forum or through private messaging. |
